i believe seat belts are required for an MOT, don't quote me on that!

i believe normal seat belts still have to be fitted and working, if originally fitted, for an MOT, even if harnesses are fitted. i know you can just have harnesses for kitcars. harnesses can be fitted to normal seats but tbh is it really worth it unless it sees a lot of track use; you won't be able to use the back seats properly and is 4 point harness any advantage over a seat belt ? ( 6 point is the way to go)

normal seat belts do not have to be fitted if you have harnesses for an MOT

Not according to this:
http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_510.htm

it says about halfway down that a 3 point seatbelt has to be fitted. however i'm no expert, best ask a local mot garage

mine passed fine with harnesses....never seen any posts on here of it failing because of it......and alot of people have them

Harnesses should work better than seatbelts if fitted correctly, so i think they should be ok, but mot testers are a funny bunch!

They cannot fail the car for having harness so long as there correct no fraid marks etc. and mount are secure although you could argue that thats down to there opinion and for me I'd fail any car using harness for points I'd deem as unsafe for the driver.
