I've come across a Clio 182 which i may be able to get at a good price but the car has a problem which i will explain below. im hoping it may be something common an a easy fix. First i will paste what it says in the advert and then i emailed him asking for more information an i will then copy and paste his reply. If anyone has come across this fault before then please reply an let me know, thanks.
" The car has a intimitant fault which has been diagnosed by Renault specialists, down to the ECU and wiring loom. The issue can cause on occasion the car to rev freely of its own accord, the issue can be temporarily fixed by playing with the wiring connection into the ECU, however the problem will reoccur at a later point, and the engine management light is on because of this issue. This could be a very cheap fix for an otherwise thoroughly looked after, and well maintained Clio 182."
" Thanks for getting in touch, the car drives extremely well in normal circumstances, very good power and smooth also. At any point however the throttle can 'cut' as such when this issue arrises, the car will then start free revving and the throttle pedal becomes unresponsive, and you'd need to pull over. As mentioned in the ad playing with the cable/disconnect & reconnect the loom will then make it run as per normal again, but the problem will come back at a later point, could be in the same journey, could not be for a week or so, seemingly triggered by any jolt, such as a bump in the road, stalling etc. Id have to go back through the receipts but i believe I paid around £120 when i took it in the first time, of which it was ran through a diagnostics and 'cured', although later the problem came back 1-2 months down the line, and the car is where it is now!
