Haynes Manual for the 2004 cars

I am looking for a haynes manual for my HW54 clio when i get it.

Would buying the earlier haynes manual (reg R-Y) cover what i need to know, about where things are located on the car etc... or would that book be very much out of date?

Depends what you want to know the Mk2 1 manual (ie with round like light) will be very simialar to the new shape Clio (triangle lights) so it is worth it to a degree.

Personally I prefere the Renault dialogues not as easy to use as a book but they contain more information on how stuff works etc.

The dialogues is the program dealerships use to find out fixed/ prices and how to replair the cars. The copy that Smokey (and others) sells is about a year out of date but the prices arnt far off usually and least they give you the part code so you can ring them up and tell them what part you need a price for etc.

I have that, (3 disks worth??)

I dont know what the codes for my car are, so many to choose from.

Are we talking about the same disks?"Renault Dialogys"

Its about 3 years from the start of production to the making of Haynes manuals. So it coincides with the warrenty running out!

all of the codes you need are on your VIN plate located on your B pillar. All u need to do is choose Mk1/Mk2 clio then click "oval plate" and copy the details from your VIN plate.

Yep thats the one.

If you have it installed properly then when you run the Dialogys MPF program to run running this should take you to the front page which looks like this

Then you fill in the car details ie type clio 2 and then enter model version ie CB1N for 172/cup (cb07 for me) then you can click the oval plate and enter the other deatial from your cars oval plate (on the drivers door piller) see this picBR

Then you can click on the icons and it will give you the parts description for you car eg the PR bit takes you to a parts list for your car so if you wanted to buy a new splitter go there and look though the parts list as shown in this picture or as Ive shown in this picture

enter the name of the part.

Then click on the part you want to look at and this

screen will appear from here click the number of the part you want to look at ie click on the number 9 to see the parts code and price of the part (exvat) for the part. DOnt forget though that there can be nuntiple images (have a loom at what Ive circled in red as if what you see isnt on the fisrt sheet it will probably be on the other ones. BTW though this isnt up to date its about one yr old.

Unfortunatly unless you can guess getting details on other cars can be difficult. I have this list of codes if there any use

CB1N0F Cup (172 is CB1N)

CB05CF Extreme 1.2 16V

CB07CF Extreme 1.5 65hp

CB08OF Extreme 1.5 80hp

CB0POG (Dynamic?) 1.4 16V

CB1DOF (Dynamic?) 1.6 16V

CB1A is the Mk 1 V6 Code
