in answer to some of the above, we had a pimped up 2.0 litre Volvo S40 Phase 1 dressed as a Phase 2 Lux model. Nothing on this! lol.
Our 'runaround' car is a little green saxo 1.1 - it's the car that we do the shopping in, some of the journeys to work, trips to the tip etc. bless it, it's a little workshorse!
No car we've ever had compares to this, everytime I open up the garage I'm like
- so excited, like a kid at christmas!
Yeah we have some absolutely WICKED driving roads round here, we're so lucky. We live in a village so when you get home from work and wanna let off some steam, it's great to just get out on the roads round here would be well up for a breakfast run
Koi - we don't know if she's been lowered or not, how can you normally tell - is there a standard 'floor to skirt' measurement that we can check against?

Just a guess from looking at the pic, it doesn't look like a 4x4 lol Might just be the angle of the pic though.
Suppose a quick way to check is to have a look at the springs, standard ones are black.

The previous owner went from Dynamique wheels to 182 wheels and back to OZ F1 (172 Phase 1) wheels.
Glad he did so before i bought it.
But err. to cut a long story short!

hmm, i'm intrigued. the other half has the car with him for a couple of days as he's away so i'll have a look at the springs when he comes back. what sort of markings might I be looking for if the colour looks standard?

Im no expert on this one, Cup pack ones are black & have a couple of coloured squares on red & white (mine do anyways)
After market ones that I know of can be:
Eibach prolines which are black with white writing (part no & make)
Eibach sportlines red with white writing on (as above)
Apex / K-tec are yellow.

Normally lowering springs come in different colours, but they do get very dirty so they could look different, best way to find out is once he is back with the car, get the jack out and take one of the front wheels off and give the spring a good clean, if its red, yellow, blue etc then chances are they ary lowering springs. If in doubt though take a good few detailed pics of it and I am sure one of us will be able to help out.

They could be sportlines, depends as some aftermarket standard springs are different colours. Hard to tell without a pic of the spring in question.
could be anything, check for some writing on them
