hdd for dell desktop

i need to add another 500gb hard drive to my dell desktop its about 6 month old and is an inspiron 530 does anyone know what type i need? or were i can find out

I think any 3.5" SATA drive should fit, check inside the case for a spare cable or you'll need one of them too.

Any 3.5" Sata or IDE if your motherboard has the connectors on it.

Yes completely different, SATA connections are much smaller.

so the only way of knowing is by looking inside my pc then its only 6months old

get us a service tag or get an external USB 2.0 500gig disk i got mine for 60 odd quid means i can take it about with me

got an internal 640gb western digital from pc world for 65 quid so wasnt too bad dont want an external i already have one
