Could possibly be.

I had 2 go on a mini had years ago. if you took a plug out on that and tried to fire it up water shot out of the plug hole lol. Always remember cos it shot my dad in the face lol. (was ok though)

Dunno if itd do that on a valver with the plugs being down so far.

But if theres no water on the cap it would lead me to believe its not gone as yu usually get oil and water mixed.

Have you tried drying around the plugs and then startting it?

Unless the gasket has just gone between the water wells and the outside of the head. leaking water into the middle of the engine.

Usual signs are vapour coming out of the exhaust, like its running rich (its actually just steam/water), that gunky mayonnaise stuff in the filler cap and running like sh*t.

Do you mean theres water in the bit where you connect your leads to your plugs? Cos thatd be a bit strange - how would it get there past the plug threads? (That is actually a proper question, not a rhetorical one!) I reckon try the drying them out thing and try again.

Sorry to be a bit pants - mechanics arent my thing! Wheres BenR when you need him? ;)

It could get in from elsewhere i guess. dry and water oult and dry the plugs and start it. see what happens.
