Head Unit question.

If I get a new head unit for my car, will they take out the standard fit screen that shows you your radiostation etc out of the car?

I've seen one with a head unit in and it had been took out, just wondering if it was something they had to do.

You can get adaptors that will allow the info to be displayed from your new HU onto that screen

There arent many units it will work with and the adaptors are quite expensive. i know alpine do a couple but the interface lead is 80 quid plus

yeah but you dont get info on the dash screen where the clock is. you get steering controls

No point tbh, the information will be displayed on tghe head unit itself.

And as for the screen that 'did' display the information when the standard unit was in, just shows the clock, thats all its needed for tbh!
