My Alpine CDM-9807RB says it has 60x4 watts, now I looked through the manual and cant find any reference to whether this is RMS or peak power? Anyone know which one it would be? I reckoned itd be peak so thatd be somewhere around 20w RMS?

Yeah that will be peak power, would be about 23watt RMS i would expect.

my sony is 52x4 peak 23.2 rms if that helps

As above !! All the wattages are peak and not RMS !! any decent amp will out power a HU !! But think of the space inside a HU !!
It is defo max power but I cant fid anything saying RMS although I think its about 25w roughly.
