headlight conversion price

i was looking into this the other day and decided to email my local company bout getting the headlights on my clio swapped to the mark 2 punto lights

i was thinkin it was gonna be bout 300 quid and they quoted 1000 without the price of the lights!!!

is this ridiculously expensive or am i just kiddin myself that i could hv got it cheaper?

Ask powelly.. Im sure hers (mk4 golf) were a b**ch to fit too, and they almost were the right shape anyway.

guess im gonna leave it then!!! i knew thed have a load of work to do but i didnt think it was gonna be round a grand!! i was willin to do it anythin up to 400

if i was gonna spend a grand id do an engine conversion anyhows

i have to agree with the bodyshop that gave the quote here, if you think that you have to mod the bonnet, 2 wings, slam panel, wiring, bumper, grill. Then you have to paint the complete front end again. Could prob do it for £1k including the lights. If you were to choose lights that were more like the shape of the originals like golf 4 or something not so long and thin itd be cheaper.
