Headlight washers

I got my Clio 172 last week so am still getting to grips with all the bits etc, so maybe someone can answer this simple question for me.

Does the normal screen wash also control the highlamp washers as mine do not appear to work?
Do your lights need to be turned on as I think I have only tried without them on. As you can see I have been working since I picked it up so not had chance to bond with my baby properly..YET..

The Xenons need to be on, other then that its just a case of using the windscreen washers.

Oh...and make sure your washer tank is over half full..i dont think it works under half way...

Not sure about the lights being on, but you do have to keep the washer jets on for a while before they kick in for the lights iirc.
