Headunit with display and stalk controls

Hi,

I've been reading the forum for a while now since I was looking for advice about buying a 182 'full fat'. I've now got one, at last, and love it!!! Came with a 'cliosport.net' sticker in the back too

However, I am now desperate to replace the headunit - I'm thinking Alpine. I've been reading around and am finding some contradictory statements about compatibility with the display and stalk controls. Some people are saying that only the stalk controls will work, others say they got the display working too. Preferably, I would like both to work but the stalk controls are my priority. So can someone recommend a decent headunit and the relevant adapter to get the above working

depends entirely on which alpine unit you purchase as to whether you can have stalk and display,im currently doing an offer of stalk and display and alpine x100 240 delivered

I want to spend less than that. I'm looking at the CDE-102Ri or CDE-9880R. Not quite sure what the different is between them to be honest. There seem to be two ranges - CDE-10x and CDE-9xxx. All look pretty similar tho :S

After looking around a bit more, the Sony headunits seem a lot cheaper. Any reason for this?

you pay for quality,alpine are at the top and lead the way in sound quality,performance and reliability
the 9880r is an old model,not stalk compatible iirc
102ri is stalk compatible (not display)

ok. Think I'll stick with Alpine then. What headunits do you sell? And what is the difference between the Alpine CDE and CDA range?
