Heat-shield question.

Does anyone know what is supposed to hold the thin foil heat shield to the bulkhead soundproofing, behind the exhaust manifold, on a 172.

Mine has fallen down and I cant see any clips or fixings, just folding it back up, doesn't work.


Any ideas ???????? thanks.

Should be a screw I think on the fire wall.

Thats what I would have expected but I cant see any signs of them.

Theres a couple of plastic screw retainers to hold the soundproofing felt in place onto the bulkhead, but I cant see what holds the foil to the felt.

Obviously it cant be plastic screws as they would melt in 5 mins. (or am I not thinking in French)

Errr Basically ....yes but mine goes all the way from left to right across the whole b/head

No....there is an engine getting in the way
