Heater coils on Diesel

Hi Guys,

I need your advice on something. I recently helped my sister purchase a nice little diesel Clio on a 2001 plate. The cars done 60,000 miles. Ok for a diesel I thought. Its been fine for a couple of days but now after starting up the heater coil light comes on and the revs go up and sit at 1000rpm. Any idea what the problem could be? The battery was replaced. Does the ecu need resetting in any way?

Its not a white dynamic model is it?

Ive got the techincal manual if you want a copy of it listing problems and fixes. Pm me your email address and Ill send it.

You may need new injectors or possibly it just need recalibrating the injection computer. The other problem could be the EGR valve.

You realy need to get it to Renault to see the fault codes (maybe someone on here witha reader can help as Renault will probably charge for this).

Best try cleangint he injectors with some decient diesel and then when warm and rag it to 5k a few times. Make sure its not stand still as the engine wont make all its power if the engine not under load ie moving.
