doh!!!thanks for replying ,its good to no im not the only one going to be freezing this winter ha ha,ill make a few enquiries next week will let you no what i find out

Mine was Heater matrix.. changed it, sorted! I went through a whole winter with no heater - NEVER EVER again.. it's dangerous and cold.

Changing them tho, is a swine. It's possibly one of the worst jobs on a Mk1 16v/Williams..

Mines gone too, couldn't of timed it better really could it.... as soon as it starts hitting freezing conditions it decides to stop working, I think my car hates me.

Seriously, I had it all last winter - awful.
You can't clear windscreen, you have to wear coat, gloves etc.. in car.

Only thing which stops the whole car from misting up is to have the cold blowers on - which makes it even colder in the car than out.

  mk1 RT
1 remove the wipers
2 remove the wiper linkages
3 undo the heater blower securing bolts as these hold in the air
distribution unit and take of the steering wheel
4 inside the car remove the top facia panel
5 remove the securing clips (there are 3 on a clio rt)
6 remove the radio cassette housing and centre console
7 undo the 5 securing bolts 2 @ each end of the dash and one behind the
centre console
8 pull the dash forward enough so that the air distribution unit can be
moved
9 diconnect the hoses for the engine bay that connect to the heater matrix
10 unclip the matrix and slide the new one in (with a bit of a struggle)
11 refit everything and fill up the car with coolant
should now work a treat.
The haynes' manual tells you to take the dash out of the car do not it will
just be more of a hassle to put back in.

as take from matts post in my thred

that was bloody flushed..... i even used chemical cleaner in it.... that must be one stubborn blockage... or the heater control does not work...

check that first.
