Just been down to Renault to pick up an Engine mount...

As usual the car caused a bit of a stir at renault with various employees ooing and aaaing in the car park.

Finish up in the parts dept, walk outside. Just as im getting into the car one of the "valet" boys turns and goes

"cant wait to drive it when you bring it in for a service mate, will give it a good run up the mad mile"

...i just turned to him an said yer like its gonna be coming here for a service. LOL

His mate was stood there going on about how they take 172/182s up there for a "blast"

Youll find 99% of all dealers from all franchises have at least one hooligan tech that thrashes the living f**k out of every car from cold on roadtest. Its a sad fact youll never garantee this wont happen unless you dont let the roadtest it.

Previously my car was in for warrenty work i specifically told them not to take mine out.

Came back and they said we had to run it about to make sure it didnt have the problem........only thing was it had been on a 15mile test drive!!

If you were 18 and working for a dealership that had cars you could never insure and you were handed the keys would you not go for a blast up the mad mile.Youve bought the wrong car if you wouldnt

The fact that some little sh*t is going to do it and its your car can cause some alarm though.Happens all the time everywhere

surely the company should have a policy that only a trained tech should take the car out?

dont get me wrogn or nothign but if you braught the car in with a specific problem - say Misfire

How the f**k is an 18 yr old valet going to diagnose possible problems or check to see if its been fixed!!

Its these morons that work at Renault that cause all the problems!!!

Wilsons in Epsom is renound for this kind of thing, a friend of mine took her car there and the guy who brought it round to her was absolutely ragging it. She had a go at him for driving like an idiot and ragging her motor. The cheek to do it or say it right in front of your face.

Unfortunately it does not inspire any confidence in their service at all.

i have many many many stories of Wilsons in Epsom.

Some of them very horific.


I only use them for parts and warrenty work if very vital (no longer have warrenty so bye bye renault)

One of the trainee mechanics took a 15 year old work experience lad out in a customers land rover. Was obviously showing off, nearly went into the back of someone, slammed the brakes on and the work exp. lad smacked his head on the dashboard and had to be taken to hospital! IDIOT

it cuz of idiots like this i get your dad to do my services has at the end of the day he does a much better job and at least im happy with the service and if it even need a test drive im there gives me piece of mind
