Hello from Australia

  182 cup
G'day guys,

I live in Australia, and drive a Blood Orange 182 cup.

I have been considering upgrading the cup suspension for a while now...but couldnt make up my mind as to what path to go down.

One route is

I want to setup the car for winding hillclimb roads with maybe a few little mid corner bumps. I dont do any track work.

I guess i'm after people's opinions who have this kit fitted to their 182 cups. How does it differ to the cup suspension in your opinion...is it better for hillclimb roads or track work? Does the lift off oversteer increase or decrease with this kit? I have noticed that the rear end tends to get very light under hard braking...will this kit eradicate that problem?

Overall i want to setup the car so that i can do the hillclimbs are warp speed, with no squat, dive, or a light rear end under braking. Basically i want the car to stick like a sultana to a sock.

Cheers
Sam

me being a snob, i don't rate ANY of the cheap stuff, i've come to the conclusion its all for looks (after fitting/driving everything under the sun), PROPER suspension will cost you £1K minimum

Cheers for that Fred.
What was your gripe with the above mentioned KTR kit?
The thing is i dont actually use my car all that much, so i want the best bang for buck result for a hillclimb setup.

I personally have no experiance of the 'lower end' of the Coilover market, but if you must have coilovers I would agree with Fred - You get what you pay for, I currently run KW V2's which are great both on and off track.

To Be honest though, if you are not minding what the car looks like and just want to improve on handling with the 'best bang for buck', you would be far better off keeping the Cup set up you have and adding a Rear Anti Roll bar (Whiteline - www.whiteline.com.au)

Or if you do want to go a little lower, buy the ARB as above and stick a set of http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2469&appid=2 on.

question is: will the k-tec suspension make the car faster than standard? if the answer is yes than it's worth the money. Generally people say the car goes better with these cheap kits but I haven't seen a lap time std vs cheap coils to see if it really is a difference
I'd buy them though just for the fun of having something adjustable to play with. Eibach springs + ARB is a good combo also
