Hello from hertfordshire

  Clio 172
Hi Everyone

Just a little hello, Just bought a phase 2 172 and found this forum which has already been very helpful with a few questions and little jobs need to do on the car. Always wanted one of these when i was younger and as got bit older needed bigger cars but bought this as my new toy for commuting to work as the mrs drives the family car. My car is pretty standard however been lowered 40mm with coil overs and has 182 grey alloys. Planning on tidying it up a little bit with a new front bumper and sorting out some of the car part dings. I do most work on cars myself so will no doubt be asking lots of questions :)

First thing to do is a new exhaust, the previous owner has seemed to just rip all the inards out of the cat and silencer on the standard exhaust so it sounds pretty terrible and drones at motorway speeds.

ATB, Tom

Not particularly clean in this pic as although I only picked it up tuesday night had to drive to Derby in it on Wednesday (about 250 mile round trip) and apart from the noisy exhaust being a bit annoying the car was spot on.

Looks tidy still - as you pointed out, could do with a clean and the headlights look a bit foggy!

That's how the after-market exhausts sound, in fairness. The engine in 1*2s isn't exactly a nice sounding unit and many get confused between making a car sound "better" and just making it "louder"
So if you don't want it to drone on motorways or be a general embarassment in traffic, grab a standard Renault / pattern part
