Clio 172
Hello all,
I thought I should introduce myself as I'm a newbie to the forums and i've been struggling to find time to post.
My name's Nick Benton and I run a small garage in not so sunny Cornwall, we specialise in Renaults (as they keep us busy!!) and we have a small unit right on the waterfront in Padstow.
My background has been in motorsport and I have competed for many years in various different series'.
In the evenings and weekends I am slowly building a range of motorsport oriented parts for use on 172/182s.I don't know if I'm allowed to blatantly advertise on here so I won't say any more about that!
I'm currently building a hillclimb/sprint Phase 1 172 which I will be competing the ASWMC speed championships.
I was hoping to finish it for this year but taking it step by step and developing parts as we go have slowed the progress somewhat.
We are hoping for a weight of around 850kg and about 240bhp running on slicks but we shall see what it ends up. I will post some pics in due course.
I hope to meet some of you at some point as I plan bring the Clio on some R.S. track days when it's finished (if they allow slicks?)
Cheers,
Nick
