Hi there, haven't been on here for ages.
I was thinking of buying a phase2 172 ages ago but money situation changed and I decided to get a total beast of a car.

I bought a MK2 rev2 MR2 turbo.
It's been a truely awesome car, but alas with fuel prices the way they are at the moment and the fact my new job doesn't pay very well I am going to have to let her go


Perfect time to now get a Phase1 172
(Would love a phase2 but the sale of my car won't support it)

Couple of questions:
What sort of fuel consumption does a 172 average?
What extra toys does the phase1 have? (Climate, TCS etc.)

And anyone want to swap a very, very fast mint MR2 turbo for a phase1 172?

Welcome back mate.

I average about 34MPG combined motorway, town and ragging it.
Toys? AC, EW, PAS, ABS, 6CD changer, half leather.

Oh 34MPG how nice would that be

No idea what my current mpg is but £40 of Optimax (It's an import so has to run on Super or Optimax) will last me around 130-160 miles

Mind you it is pant fillingly quick and it's not standard
