hi new to owning a clio so thought i would buy a 2003 172 ph2, in silver driving home the cambelt went so now im replacing engine with another 172 engine just in better condition,

after some dismantling of the old engine i drained the oil and it was the worst oil i have ever seen.

so hopefully will have a new engine fitted with a new cambelt and water pump before sunday.

tbh i did the online check and it only passed a mot 2 weeks ago. didn't bother to much as i knew something was wrong and looking at the condition of the engine bay i just thought at this price i could ruin the engine and rebuld it. so not going to argue paying 1/3 the normal price then having to swap the engine say another 500ish. still less than a cheap 172.
my only hurdle now is a engine hoist local to rushden.
