HELP! Clutch problem

Car  172 Race Car
Hi all. I have a big problem with my clutch.

Basicly when i bought the car it had a clicking/sticking clutch ratchet, or so the previous owner was told by a Renault tech. Anyway ive replaced the clutch ratchet and cable with genuine reno bits and its alot better.

Untill you try and change gear at high revs. Mainly 3rd into 4th. The ratchet clicks and the clutch doesnt engage properly. Come off the pedal and back on and its fine. Ive stripped the ratchet down again to check it and put a spacer in the cable to get the ratchet working on a different tooth and its no better.

Anyway ive since discovered that the clutch fork arm (in gearbox) is really lose when the cable is off. Its got to be that? Guessing thats why its mainly at high revs.

Looking at some picures when doing a search there sems to be a nylon pivot that the arm is on. is this a known problem? If its just come off could i pop it back on, by removing the rubber cover, WITHOUT removing the box?

Help please.....

Burp the release arms do move about a bit and feel a bit loose, yeah you can pull that rubber nodder off and have a look in with a penlight although you won't be able to do a lot.

Did you replace the cable aswell or just the ratchet mechanism?

Thanks for the reply TomTom. Cable and ratchet were replaced with new Genuine Renault items. Ive taken the rubber thing off and i can see now that its a pivot not a mount point. Ive taken the ratchet apart again and adjusted the pedal link. It seams better now but as said its mainly when driving.

will give it another go in the morning
