help finding my brother a camera

my brother needs a camera so he can take photos of the tattoos he is doing to build his portfolio. he has never had a camera so doesnt need an slr good quality is needed though



as im buying him it i have a budget of about 150 to spend on it

Depends on size of tattoo i suppose. If its macro you need ive always found sony PAS cameras have excellent macro.

If not then stick to the big names. Your chances of reliability are much greater.

Other than that i suspect most people will chirp in and vote for the camera they own.

Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic Lumix, Samsung (some of their NV range has impressed me in the short time ive had to try them at work)

the tattoos vary in size from an inch or so upto well an entire back or leg or arm i suppose

If you can get one on ebay an F601 should go for nomore than 80 quid i think.


It's 12mp super ccd. I have one that I carry charged in the car all the time. Excellent, fairly compact digital camera imo.
