Help fitting bucket seats?

  Clio 172 Cup Impreza
Hi folks,

I've got these subframes for my Clio. They have been used before with base mounted seats, however mine are sidemounted and I want to mount the sidemounts onto runners and then attach them the seat subframe.

These subframes have two sections of tube which are internally threaded at each end. Has anyone got any ideas what they are there for other than possibly strengthening the subframe? The look like they were there from the start. Annoyingly they are right where I want to put the runners so it looks like I will have to cut them out and then possibly weld in some flat bar to attach the runners to or just drill where the tube was welded on.

I've got some harnesses, but I'm hoping to keep the seatbelts just for convenience. Has anyone else done this and where did you attach the seatbelt clip.

Thanks for any help!

Why has one of the subframes got the flatbar welded to it ?

I can give you dimensions for holes to mount your side mount brackets to tomorrow if needed

Hi,
That's the driver's side one so I assume it would be because they wanted the base mounted seats they were previously used for a bit further back in the car.

I've attached the sidemounts to the seats to give a bit of an idea how far apart the runners should be. Are they a standard width apart?

Thanks
