hi guys i think i am getting my plans in order for what i am going to upgrade first on my 172 mk2. I am going to first of all upgrade the suspension and the braking system. it seems the better you can take and brake into and out of corners is probably worth nearly 10bhp or more!!! Please could anyone post their views on what is a good set up for this car pads discs springs dampers etc etc prices would also be great also i am wanting to fit strut braces to the front and rear cos mine seems a bit twitchy (could it be cos i have 195 50 rather than 45 profil should i change this also cheers guys your help is most appreciated cheers..oh forgot to say anyone got any pics of their 172 lowered with different springs set up that would be great danke!!!

Coilovers are the best for handling.

I think they are about £800 but not sure now, they may have dropped or gone up.
The rears are as far down as they can go but the fronts can go down a fair bit more! But you wouldn't want to imo.

1) a brake upgrade - see our website! DS2500 package is one of the most popular for fast road/light track work
2) a spring/shock upgrade (or coilovers?) - Eibach Sportlines and koni dampers or H&R coilovers
3) strut braces - don't bother with a rear one, they don't do anything

cheers mates for that how much are eibach and upgraded dampers? what are mintex pads and discs like??

i'm still to try out the mintex, but good apparently, i would advise against going for expensive discs as you'll cry if you warp them!
