  Renault clio
Really need some help. The battery light and stop light constantly stays on when driving our Renault Clio 64 reg. RAC have been out twice, been to an independent carriage for 3 weeks where battery and alternator replaced. Problem still not fixed and lights constantly on. Renault dealer now have had the car for over a week where the BCM has been replaced but lights still on. Renault thought it was the alternator even though brand new one in car, 3 alternators later and problem still there. Wiring all fine and even Renault technical have no idea what the issue is. Anyone else had this problem or even heard of it and how was it resolved. Thinking about getting rid of car now as spent over 1K and not fixed.shame really as car has really low mileage and good consitionHELP

If its any consolation - the local Renault dealership to me replaced the alternator three times when my OEM item failed. They even had the nerve to try and charge me the additional labour for each swap-out.

When eventually they got it right - the unit only lasted two years before failing again. Go figure.

Got it swapped at a specialist and all has been good since.

What do you mean by "BCM" Phil? Our body functions are controlled by a UCH and they don\t tend to have anything to do with Alternator control. Assuming all failed alternators have been checked and confirmed as outputting the correct voltage but you're still getting charge fault warnings on the cluster? I don't get why so many places struggle with the Mk4 Clio, they're not exactly quantum physics! Sounds more like either a wiring (CAN) or UPC fault to me.
