Help Identifying part

  Clio 172
Ok first thread in 2 years on here,

Dropped my work mate at home the other week and he picked a spring up off the floor and moaned that another part had fallen off his car. Since then my 172MK2 Ph2 has been making a hell off a racket from the front passenger side. Have now realised the part my mate found must have come from my car.

Have found a picture on here of the part in situ, what do you call this spring and does anyone know the part number?

Looks pretty easy to change, is it?

I need to look under the car to see if the spring is missing but got a dodgy knee and cant get down to see, will get my mate to have a look.

any advice would be good

You will need spring clamps and have to loosten the nuts at the top of the damper to let the rear torsion beam drop down to allow you access.

Be very very carefull as to how you deal with spring clamps, people have been badly mamed and killed as a result of misuse...

You don't need spring compressors for the rear and you take the lower bolts out the shock to all the axle to drop enough to release them. As soon as you jack the car up all compression will be taken out of the rear springs.

am enjoying the comments but i definatly have a problem at the front
Just read front you threw me with a pic of the back well its the same thing really but a bit more complicated as the spring needs removing from the strut and you will need compressors for the fronts. Best garaging it unless you 100% know what your doing.
