HELP... Im a girl and I need help!!!

Hiya Guys,

I had my car serviced and MOT'd about a month ago and it needed a new suspension spring. The garage fixed this for me and my car was fine.

About 2 weeks ago my car started juddering in low gears and and if I went into 3rd I had to put my foot to floor, downgear and rev it quite hard to stop the juddering.

On Saturday I was on the motorway absolutely fine and then when I turned my car off and back on again the engine light was flashing and it wouldnt go above 50. The light went off after it had been sat for a while but the problem continued. I went out in it yesterday and the light didn't come on but there was still some juddering. Today I went to work and back which is about 20 mins each way but about 5 mins away from home the light came back on for a couple of mins and went off again.

Anybody have any idea what this is??!

It's only a 1.2 Dynamique if that helps.

Common fault on the 1.2's.

lmfao, hes making that up, you need to get it on a diagnostics machine, probably a sensor failure, there are several specialists on the forum that you can take it to if you dont like dealers

Sounds more like a capacitor to me, of the flux variety.

More likely the flux capacitor. You didn't go above 88mph did you?

When mine went i had the light on yeah. Limited revs and power.

Ive got a 1.6 Dynamique

They can be purchased seperately, I bought one for £50 off the AA man the first time it happened on my old dynamique+

Again though that was the K4M, I don't know if it's the same for the 1.2.

It sounds like its the ignition coil, if you go in and state that they shouldnt rip you off.

Take fella / male friend along. Just let him read this thread so he's clued up

Oh and seriously, just call the AA out if you have their cover. If you dont have home start, go to a mates house and call them and get them to go there. Not your home is it

I don't have home start. It starts ok so thats not a problem as of yet.

no its different on the 1.2 16V, the coil pack/HT leads are all 1 unit instead of individual pencil coils on the 1.4/1.6

check your cover as they usually try and fix it at the roadside before they take you to a garage, tell them when you report the breakdown that you think its the coilpack and they might sent out van which usually carry coil packs for clio ,megane and modus and probably every other spare that renaults usually break down with.

If you ring the RAC and tell them your light has come on (even if it hasn't, they wont know) and that you dont want to move it just in case, they will come out and use their diagnostics tool free of charge and then tell you whats wrong. You can then fix it by going to a garage and telling them whats wrong or get a freind that can do it to do it for you.

This kind of thing is common as muck on Clios, if you call the RAC I can guarantee they will know straight away what it is.

It's probably best not to say I think it's this or that, just explain the problem and leave it at that, it looks a bit sussed otherwise imo. If your calling the RAC out anyway.
