HELP! Immobiliser problem!!!!

Need some help people.
Have not driven my car for about 10 days and went to start her up today and it was just turning over and over but wouldn't start. All electrics running fine, immobiliser light flashing and then going solid when I turn the key. Have tried locking/unlocking a few times, earthing the key, tried the spare key, infact i think ive tried everything possible within my capability. Can anybody help? It's a 2002 172 FF. Do you think it could be a lack of charge in the battery?

The imobiliser isn't unlocking thatwhy.

Check the transponder pickup round the barrel lock check its plugged in etc.

list of things to do that really should be made a sticky!

*disconnect battery*

*check and clean all the relays*

*earth the key*

*unlock and lock serveral million times*

*turn the key to pos but not turning over then back lots of of times*

*try turning but not starting and waiting for immobilser light going out*

*listen for fuel pump priming and how strong the signal is*

i just had problems with mine now that i think sometimes when i started it up it started abit sluggish maybe the battery? the 1.2 oe one was giving out 310 amps new one gives out 600 amps

where can i find this mate? is it underneath the barrel housing?

its around the ignition barrel you have to take the cowlings off
