Help installing Parrot CK3000 bluetooth handsfree

  ex Clio 172 owner :(
I've just bought a Parrot CK3000 Evolution. Got it for £60 buy it now off ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160093178699

They get a good review and with the now £60 & 3 points for using your phone, I'm hoping it'll keep me out of trouble.

I'm starting to think that it'll be a pain in the butt installing it. There's a big controller box that I'm not sure where I'm going to put it. Countless wires.

Thing is, I'm not the best with electrics. I've wired in car radios before but usually a bit of a cowboy job. If I'm going to do it myself I need a decent radio wiring diagram. I've done a search on here but still a bit confused.

Anyone know where I can buy an ISO Clio adapter for it? I've tried the Parrot site and could only find the Megane Cabasse radio adaptor. I'm assuming it's the same as the Clio? Thing is, my radio does not have Cabasse written on it like a 182 does, mines a 53 172. It looks the same mind.

Basically, anyone offer any help into how to fit it or point me to where I can buy a ISO connector?

Cheers.

lol ok there's a wiring thread been bumped today that I've spotted.

If I was doing it myself, should I solder it or use those little Scotch connector things? Just seems like loads of stuff to try to fit behind radio.

ISO would be best I think.

Anyone?

I don't quite follow what the problem is Chris,

I have fitted loads of these for family and friends.

They just connect between the loom and the head unit, run the microphone up the A Post and pop it out by the interior light, then find a neat place for the control box.

You will find all the space you need if you pop the top of the dash off.

Don't forget you will need to re-code the radio.

lol I'm not well mate and it came today. Looking at all the wires and my head's in bits.

So does it just clip straight in between the radio and the car?

I thought the ISO connector would not match up with the Clio's wiring and thus some sort of adapter would be needed.

So I can just clip it straight in? (bar the power leads?)

Cheers dude.

  FF 182 w/cup packs
yeah just clip it straight in, including the power leads, it powers from the same wiring loom, the only thing that you need to plug in seperatly is the mic, i've tucked my unit down the left hand side of the head unit, but if the cables reach there is plenty of room under the cup holders

Cool! I got it working barring some teething problems with the voice commands.

That said, I'm now worried I have the power wiring up wrong?!

It says on the guide above...

Renault cars have an inverted polarity.
12V Ignition and the 12V Permanent are
inverted so change the fuses holders :
- red to orange and orange to red

I haven't done this!

Am I meant to have swapped them over? Am I going to come back to the car with a flat battery?

Cheers.

  BMW M135i
Are you seeing the Good bye message when you turn it off? If not then the red/yellow leads need to be swapped.

There the ignition and permanent lives, for some reason not all manufactures use the same colour for them.

Any chance of some pics when you've finished fitting it?, am intersted in one myself and just want to see how it looks and how you've installed it.

It's not the one with the screen. So it doesn't say goodbye unless it's meant to on the phone?

Pics coming up soon. I've recently bought a Brodit proclip with an N80 holder too.

Tom, do it? Do what?

(Do it, do it - like Starsky and Hutch?!)

  Carrera 4S. Clio 172. M5
Just swap them Chris, there is no downside to doing this, I promise.
It's just the stupid French and there insistence in using the opposite protocol to just about everyone else on the planet.

You wont have a message, but both lights will go out when you turn off the ignition.

Dammit!

I've just been out to the car and the noticed (only just) that the red and green lights are still on!

AAARRRGGGHH!! Gonna have to try to pull out the radio (hoping I don't have to take the dash off again) and see if I can manage to swap the connectors!

So if I swap them, the lights should go off when I take keys out?

You got it !

Tip for the future,

Check everything works before you put the car back together ;)

One question before I go back outside, while you guys are on...

I noticed earlier that the sound is quite loud, so I turn it down.

When I take keys out and put back it, the sound is loud again.

Also, when sending my first contact to the parrot, Andy, it asks for his name, to say home, cellular (I just said mobile) and work. Fair enough.

Then when I send anyone else eg mam, it'll ask for the name but then when I've said mam, it'll not ask for work, cellular etc, it'll just say completed.

Both Andy and my mam have home and mobile numbers stored in my phone.

Any ideas?

That's a Brodit proclip for a Clio dashboard vent mount a N80 passive tilt & swivel holder by the way.

How'd you turn tomtom on its side like that?

The volume issue would make me think that the permanent/ignition lives are the wrong way round so its not getting a permanent live to keep the settings.

  Carrera 4S. Clio 172. M5
The voice recog, is a bit of a nightmare, that why I prefer the ck3100 with its phone book scroll and the fact it will pair up to 5 phones.

You just have to persevere with the instruction book, and remember, its made in France ;)

Cool. Managed to pull out the radio, find the leads, swap them and stuff everything back in. The lights now go off when keys are out.

bmh01... it's not so much that tomtom is on it's side, it's an app I have for the N80 which allows you to turn the screen to landscape, it's called 'rotateMe'. It's a pain to get working but is good when you do. On 50% zoom, in landscape, you can see pretty much a whole webpage only scrolling up and down rather than left and right too. So useful.

I actually prefer tomtom in portrait though.

Incidentally, does anyone know if the ISO connectors would be a direct fit for a 53 reg Ford Fiesta. The one with the weird three piece looking cd/radio?

Cheers.

and sot lead is short for sound on top lead, the sound goes over the radio music for the handsfree kit.99% of cars they are available for even 07 plates,i did a ford ranger on an 07 plate today, autoleads dont list one but mazda do a lead identical to the ranger so i can always match it if you cant find out ;) drop me a pm if you need help.what car is it etc and ill find out if you need one

  ex Clio 172 owner :(
Incidentally, I'd recommend this kit to anyone.

Takes a bit of time to get used to the settings and how they work and sending your contacts across to it. After that it's a case of...

Leaving your bluetooth on your phone on..
Getting in your car,
turning the ignition on,
the phone then auto pairs with the parrot,
i have my phone set to change itself to car profile,
then you're away.

I say "phone, paul, mobile (or home or work)"
then it rings the phone. You can say "hang up" at the end of a call.

You don't have to touch the phone at all. You don't even have to touch the parrot controls.

Does anyone know how to stop it from making the dialling sound when it calls someone ie the sound of all the keys being pressed?

Really good system.

Easy to install bar taking the dash off which isn't hard really.

I'm going to relocate the microphone to the top of the a-pillar or near the rear view mirror.

  ex Clio 172 owner :(
There's a big control box that needed tucking away. Plus it needed the microphone and control box wires routing from the back of the radio to the places I've put them. Just wanted a neat job.

  172
I know mate i own one.lol.A neat job can be done without that need. There is room inside without taking the top off mate, soo much easier.Wiring can be passed through from radio din all the way up to the a pillar to the windscreen for the microphone and also i have the handsfree kit (sub amp wiring etc and hu wiring all behind the radio, there is room you just gotta know where ;)

  ex Clio 172 owner :(
Does anyone know if the sound should be coming out of just the front speakers? It seems to be just them.

Also..

When I have tomtom on my phone on, the woman's voice now comes out of the speakers. When it does, by the time the signal has been sent to the speakers, it's missing off part of the instructions. ie instead of saying "you have reached your destination" I'm getting "eached your destination".

Is there any way you can think of that I can get the tomtom voice to still come out of the phone? Even when I switch my phone to the general profile, the voice comes out of the speakers (as it's still paired up with the parrot).

Cheers.

do you have the standard radio?if not connect the telemute on your headunit to the yellow coming from the black box as it will produce the sound through all the speakers then,as for the tom tom bit i cant help you there im afraid

  Carrera 4S. Clio 172. M5
Does that Renault CD unit not have a mute option in the set-up. ?

If it does, select it then connect the yellow cable on the Parrot loom to the mute connection on the h/u direct.

Parrot just interrupts the speaker lines and puts a dummy load on the set while the phone audio is connected, so it may not be switching fast enough for your TT software.
Changing it so the set mutes will probably resolve the problem.

The recovered audio should only be on the front speakers, thats correct for that unit.

  ex Clio 172 owner :(
There was a yellow lead in the parrot loom which (seeing as everything seemed to work) I didn't do anything with.

Not sure about the radio having a mute. I can press both up&down on the stalk volume and that 'pauses' the sound ie mutes the radiio/cd.

I am fairly certain its in the options list. I think Edde did a list of all the functions. iirc
And yes......that yellow lead.
