Help! Insurance On A 172 19 2yrs Ncb

I realise this question has probably been asked many times but I am after a little advice,

I am 19 have 2years NCB and really want a 172, more than my Gran wants a new hip! Insurance appears to be an issue, but I am not surprised, I am getting quotes of £1700/£2000 TPFT on a 172, still a little more than I would like really!

Can anyone recommend an insurer to try for a reasonable quote, and I want to keep it all in my name.

£1700 @ 19 isn't bad TBH for a group 16 car.

adrian flux are sometimes ok when ure young.

Given that 172 prices are coming down a little now, personally i wouldnt say its worth paying out that much to insure one. wait a while, and pick up one for less cash, when ure quotes are gonna be cheaper.

172's are great fun, but they are so not worth 2k insurance

I would suggest waiting until your 21 then it will come down a fair wack otherwise you'll be throwing all of your money at a car

Also depends on how much you earn I guess

i choose tesco so i could transfer my bike no claims over, and they wouldn't insure me at all until i turned 21 even then it were 900with no claims protection.(Bought my cup 3 weeks before my 21st birthday) guted had to leave it sat on the drive. And i had sold my bike and car to pay for it. Was still insured on my bike tho and my dads third party only, so riding dads GSXR 1000 for 3 weeks at 20! loved it.
