help is my car running right

Hi guys I have a 197 on a 56 plate I don't think it's running right as on hard acceleration it holds back as if she is either not getting enough air or to much fuel! Also today a fiesta st raced me and I couldn't keep up can you give me some ideas as to what the cause maybe as I thought these cars were quick.

Seriously though, if you suspect it's not running right why not have it looked at properly?

Or why not ask for simple solutions on a forum first?

Have you checked air filters, fuel filters etc? Without being a N/A car it's really important the car breathes freely. Check induction pipes etc

Or ignore my suggestion and use your Jedi skills to connect to the vehicles numerous computers to identify parameter values that aren't quite right, do carry on.

Hi guys thanks for the replies I will check the air filter and where is the fuel filter located and is it easy to replace? As to the St it was a 59 plate I think.
I just wondered if there were any common faults on the 197 that sounds like mine. I'm also going to plug and Obd 11 diagnostic tool in later to see if it has any codes stored.
