Hmm - £230, i know what your saying thats still alot of money for a pair of speakers but if you were to hear them fella you would soon change your mind. Im sure youd get um for £200 if try twisting his arm alittle... Your welcome to come listen to mine if you want an idea to what they sound like. Youll have to search hard to find a better sound.

well if dont go for um - maybe think about "DLS" i havent heard anyone say a bad thing about them, and are meant to be really good value for money, good build quality too. I was thinking about getting a set of these before the polks came up

How about focals tom? Not really heard them for long but apparently for 200 big ones they beat stuff twice the price, maybe even the momos but I cant confirm that.

Anyway, back to what you asked, imo -

crystals - never heard them

alpines - v good all rounder

bostons - good if you require lots of bass.

Diamond - a bit sharp on the tweeter
