HELP, My car’s going to fry !!!

Well it certainly sounds like it ! My sunroof is leaking bucket loads, I mean pouring out where the switch is everytime I go round a corner, right into my lap which looks good when I get out !! My first problem is how do I solve this and is it easy enough to do ? My second problem is there is a very worrying hissing electrical noise coming from the sunroof switch accompanied by an equally worrying smell whenever this happens. Where is the fuse for this switch as Ive had a look and cant find it ?? Will taking the fuse out until the roof is fixed prevent my car frying itself ????!!!!!

Many thanks for any help, Happy New Year !!!

Taking the fuse out will probably stop it frying but the circuits will still corrode. Leaking sunroofs are common. Some people get the seals fixed for about £80 (I think). Easier and cheaper option that I did was get a silicone gun and seal off the sunroof from the outside. Put some neatly around the gap between the glass and the seal, and around the aerial too. Silicone is easily peeled off later if you want to do the job properly but I left mine sealed. No more water got in.

The sunroof not leaking its the ariel, mines started to leak too, all three clios I have had have suffered with this, all you need to do is take the interior light plastic off and you will see a 12/10mm nut holding the ariel to the roof, undo the nut and clean up the hole on both sides of the the roof inside and outside, then once dry, get some silcone sealer and seal the edge base plate of the ariel and put some on the edge of the hole on the outside and refix the ariel. Voila no more water, the water coming in is probably shorting your electrics in the sunroof.

yeah, mines doing the same at the moment-im getting soaked. already done the arial so im gonna have to bodge the sunroof.

Ok thanks a lot, will try the silicone if it ever stops raining !! Does anyone know where the fuse is for the sunroof though ? Im not being lazy, had a look under the glove box but its not labelled, also looked in the clio book and still cant see it ? Everything still works ok at the moment [interior lights, S/R etc] just dont want to feck anything up by shorting it all !
