help needed please read.

hi ppl ive just been to start my car up wiv the spare key but for some reason it just wont start.
could this be due to the spare keys battery being dead.
does the key need to have a battery to start because of the immobiliser?
please help me out here cheers in advance ben.

Is the red imobiliser light going out when you turn the key?

Center one in the middle of the dash red circle, middle at the top.

no light doesnt go out.

Immobisiler isn't going off then, it doesn't need the battery but the fob might be fecked. Or the external alarm is factoring into it somehow.
