Help! New car... Little confused!

I know this sounds like a really girlie thing to say but I havent got a clue about my car!
I got my 1st car yesterday - A yr 2000 Clio 1.2
The thing is is it an 8V or 16V?
Me and my bboyfriend were both trying to find out yesterday but with no luck

EDIT: Ignore me, being a 2000 its going to be a mk2 ph1 (the rounder head lights) so pretty sure that will make it a 1.2 8v

No, as both the 8v and 16v are SOHC.
