HELP No Reverse

Does anybody know how to change the cable for the lift up reverse in a 1992 1.4 RT? Is just the cable available from reno?

you cant buy the cable but you can by a new stick at £69 + VAT.

But you can go and buy a bike brake/gear change cable and use the inner and knock something up. Or jam it up constanly.

Easy just put it in neutral get out and push it. then u got reverse.

where does the other end of the cable goto? where is the "gate" which opens up the reverse slot?

drop in a 4 speed box from a 1.2 nova, worls wonders with clios that have lost reverse gear

cable goes to the base of the stuick and lifts up a collar so the lever can clear a ledge on the cream plastic lever surround thingy.

Do I get to the base of the stick under or inside the car? I have taken the console out and the stick goes down into an orange ball.

you need to get undernath the car. its also easier you take the exhaust off.

The orange ball is the pivot point for the stick. Have a look at the black rubber around it, if its not touching the stick put some superglue in there and it will tighten up the change as well.
