Help on re-oiling K&N air filter

Hey everyone!

Has anybody got a K&N air filter installed?
I removed my before servicing, and cleaned it. Now I'd like to put it back, but I need to re-oil it, and don't know what kind of oil to use...

I don't want to buy that expensive original K&N re-oiling kit, and perhaps use something more cheap and suitable.

Any recommendations?

mate its a tenner for a service kit, no need to be a tight arse. youll end up paying for a new engine if you use suspect oil and it lets crap in.

I heart that I can use WD-40, I sprayed the filter with it, but it doesn't seem to be as it should.
I didn't put it yet, don't want to ruin the engine though.
But really, what difference can it make if not using the original oil?
I don't want to seem tight arse, but now I'm a bit tight on cash...

OMG, what are you thinking about?! WD40?! Go and get a service kit.

And while you're out, check out what it would cost to have a new lump fitted.
