Help ! - Only 1st & 2nd

on the way home from the g/f's this morning it was hail stoning, pulling away from the lights i wheel spun, not on purpose!

changed to second gear, then third and nothing, i only have first and second, not even reverse

whats the damage?!

have you had a look under the car while someone moves the stick to check the linkage? Not that I know just something I'd try.

check the shafts, linkage and gearbox, most likely be the box

Can you feel it going into gears at all? If not then a fiver says the linkage!

i bet that 5th gear has popped off the shaft pushing the end casing out

rebuild time

nope you cant feel anything when going into the gears which dont give me drive

they are taking the end casing off for me today to check if 5th has popped off

5th has not come away, nothing obvious at fault, something must be wrong inside the box so its gonna have to come out

I couldn't 100% remember but seemed to think I swear thats supposed to be 1 piece! New box time? Or is it repairable? Whats broken?

well the shaft they are on is £200, so considering other box parts could easily reach another £200-£300 ive ordered a refurb box
