Help please monitor and pc

My graphics card has a connection for DVI - it also came with an adaptor to connect to the end of the monitor cable. Is it possible to connect the montior cable (DSUB on the monitor) to the DVI port using the adaptor that came with my graphics card?????

Im trying to understand what your asking.. if I understand it correctly then the answer would be yes..

yeh it was difficult to explain! lol. Basically i was using a analogue cable from my monitor(dsub) to the graphic card. But i have now got an adaptor meaning The analogue cable in effect could be connected to the DVI port on my graphics card via the adaptor .... just wanted to know if it was safe to do so really - (i think the cable probably supports both analogue and digital) ..... sorry for confusing you!! lol

Yes it would be safe, im assuming your planning on running dual monitors ?

not at the minute. Is there any real difference between using the DVI port and the analogue port on my lcd monitor??

Not really TBH.. DVI *should* be better quality.
