on my home pc i can't access 'my computer' or any of my files with my work and files in them. everytime i open 'my computer' it closes after 2 seconds. i can use other applications like itunes and stuff but can't access my files and folders.

originally the problem started off with the taskbar completely dissappearing along with the desktop icons, and i couldn't right click either, but that has somehow fixed itself.

also if it helps, on the startup, in the system32 box at the it says something like system error 5 has occurred anyone got any idea how to solve this... QUICKLY

What OS you running?

Try going back to the last restore point, or starting in safe mode.

Have you got any recovery disks mate??

im not that good with computer software sorry.

but just a thought

vista unfortunately,

couldn't tell you if any back up disks have been made because when we got the pc, boxing day last year i was away so i'll try restoring
