Help Regarding Pop3 Email.

Im trying to work out i mail on my macbook...

basically its all set up and working but it keeps retreving emails from my gmail inbox from 2007 then stopping, then i press it again and it syncs some more 2007 emails and its gradually getting closer to recent emails but its going to take me ages..

does anyone know why?

I have archived all of my old mail on my GMAIL account and theres only a few messages in my gmail inbox.

Don't know why it'd stop downloading via POP3. It should just download them all once and then just download new ones thereafter.
I'd personally use IMAP instead though. It's much better. It'll keep your email client in sync with your gmail account, whereas POP3 will just download the messages from the server and keep them on your computer.
