Help. Sister Lost Only Key!

So my idiot sister (whom i share the car with) has lost the only key we have for the car. We only got one when it was bought so no spare. It's looking like we will need to purchase another key from Renault so i was wondering if anyone could offer some information on how to go about this and how much it would cost. I did a search and it seems £200+ from Renault.

With not being able to get into the car i'm worried the information possibly needed is out of reach, if so i suppose i'll have to try the bending the door trick and trying to unlock the car that way, to get to that label on the driver side body.

(Edit) Oh and is it possible for a MK2 PH2 to lock itself, just incase she has left the keys in the car, locked it and closed the door. Or something like that.

Keys are relatively cheap, it's coding them for the alarm/immobiliser that costs the money.

I'd look in the YellowPages/Yell.com and find an auto-locksmith in your area. Far cheaper than Renault. Do you have AA? They'll get into the car for you.

As for proof, surely you don't keep the V5 in the car?!

vant speak for renault but here you need to come in with your V5, photo ID and a household bill. you can order the key that thn takes a few days to come in.

V5 is not proof of ownership- however when asking renault for a new key you need
V5 in your name + Proof of address X2

I have the V5 and the other stuff at home so thats ok. To purchase a new key from Renault do i just ring them up, go through customer service and eventually arrive at the place where i buy one? Will they just ask me for info from documents or will i need anything from the car? She will be paying! Cheers for the help so far

Or do i have to do it in person at a dealer?
