Help! Warning light has come on

I've been out driving quite fast for a while and when I slowed down this warning light came on.
I turned the engine off and when I started it again the revs shot up to 3K and wouldn't drop. I pressed the throttle and they went up a little higher and got stuck again.
When I start it now the idle is normal but the light is still on.

I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere so is it safe to drive it home? The drive home is 60 miles of twisty hilly roads

I let it sit for a bit then when I started it up it idled at 3K again. I got it going down the road then the idle went back to normal, but it was way down on power and limiting me to 2500rpm. After a while the heart monitor light went off but the engine light was on. Eventually I got full power back on the way home. I'll phone the garage tomorrow and get it in for diagnostics.

I'm wondering if it could be something to do with water getting in to some electrics because the roads were flooded a lot today.

Will a diagnostics say exactly what electrical problem it has?

Yeah could be water has got in somewhere .

yeah it will pull up any fault codes have been stored . They will clear the faults and see if they appear again. Hopefully it's nothink .

its could be just down to water as they hate any water / damp
