Help...Whats this warning light mean

  ICE'dberg MK2 172

All the way to work this morning the "exhaust gas" warning light has been on. It says in the book to take it to a dealer if it persists....got a Ktec and Viper.

Dont really want to give it to the dealers.

Should be ok - I think this thing is driven by the lambdas in your catalytic converter - theyre still there presumably. Theres no monitoring beyond that, so your exhaust shouldnt be an issue.

You could always take the Viper off temporarily if youre worried about it.

This light could mean a number of things.

TDS sensor on the flywheel is pretty comon. Get it checked. Dont worry about taking it to the garage with the mods, it will prob be an 18 year old who is well impressed!

OK....coming back home today...NO light. WTF????

The damn thing has felt a bit flat lately and sluggish. could it be connected????

it could be running in safe mode but youd describe that as a bit more then a bit flat-my light came on and igbnition coils where f**ked £120 and reno paid 3/4

I think this is the light that came on in my mates Extreme. It went out after a while but then his car started choking and stuff. Had to go in for a new Oxygen sensor or something like that.

Mine came on on delivery, at which pont the dealer got a lot of questions! Went off after 20 ish miles or so as told it would.

They found a fault code - something like the accelerometer - it wasnt called this but something similar.

Never had it since.

diffinately wasnt in limp mode...just seemed normal, except the light.

car just doesnt seem the same though....I am also driving a 2.0ltr 130ps turbo diesel Mondeo and it just pulls like a train...only to 4k !!! :( but then its got a 6 speed box so if its worked well it really goes better than my clio....well it feels that way.
