help with a mechanical problem on

  182 Cup, (2nd one)

My Renault 182 cup has done less than 3000 miles- and after help off this site I have got it booked in for the engine mount to be adjusted due to the occasional knocking sound

But I now have another problem........

When I lift off the throttle in normal driving situations, I am getting a grinding noise like when you press the brakes when the car has been standing for a few days in the wet. When I hit the throttle again the grinding stops

Also, occasionally when I turn the steering wheel slightly to the left or right I am getting a dull thudding noise like if a stone is caught in the tread of the tyre (but no stone there) however, this is intermittent. All the sounds etc seem to coming from the driver’s side front wheel.

Does this sound like a bearing/drive shaft/CV joint type problem.

I haven’t curbed the alloys or clipped the wheels, avoid pot holes and the car has been run in correctly.

Any suggestions will help me when I go to see the Renault dealer.

Thanks

Charlotte

I could be something as simple as the exhaust hitting/rubbing due to something being out of alignment, get them to have a good look underneath when they do the mount.

Thanks for that with the exhaust would you feel the clanking through the steering wheel
Also, the grinding is like when the brake pads are worn out and that can also be felt throught the steering wheel.

Does that so likely?

sorry I am not very technical
