Help With Amp Remote Wire

On back of stereo it looks that remote input for amp is a 3.5mm jack however the remote wire I bought has no adaptor on it.

Any advice?

The remotes usually a blue wire as opposed to a jack.

Which stereo is it mate?

Is a Sony xPlod.

There's a wire labelled "Amp Rem 0.4a max" or something like that.

Would that be it?

The OEM wire has like a metal tube around the wire.

The Blue remote wire connects to the rem terminal on the amp.

The metal tube your on about sounds like the female part of a bullet connector. Crimp a male bullet connector onto your amp cable then push it inside the headunit cable. Wrap some insulation tape around it while your there too.

What does the REM terminal look like though?

Not the best pic, I just took this off google. Basically a blue / blue and white wire with a metal connector on the end with rubber around it.

ive got a song xplod, there should be a wire with amp written on it, its definitely blue might have a yellow stripe down it though. Thats where you remote cable (the small blue one) attatches. simples
