help with chip!! Techy people

Fitted a chip today. Car wont start now. its from a renault 19 16v and a starchip. been told they fit as other people have fitted em. my car is a 93K phase 1. does this make a difference? My car is now stuck on the drive cos the old chip was stuck on so well it was damaged when taken off.

can anyone help me out? Tell me what i can do? I am lookin for a new ecu now.

I think the chip was either incompatible with the ECU, or the ECU was damaged during soldering. I fitted a new ECU from a breakers yard two weeks ago for £70, so its not loads of money. Take your ECU out so you can quote the number on the bottom when making enquiries. The number to quote starts with SH or something like that. My car is the same year as yours and they have a different ECU to the 91/92 clios so keep that in mind.

Another thought take the ECU out and check there is no solder on any of the circuitry, as this would most certainly cause a problem if the chip is compatible with the ECU.

I hope the chip is compatable. Its a R19 chip. But heard of these being fitted to clios ok
