Help With Clip

Hey Guys,

My mechanic mate who has access to a Clip has been around today with the intention of sorting my airbag/service light ready for the mot.

We did for some reason have some problems with programming certain aspects of the airbag module.

In short the car hit a bump and fired the passenger side pre-tensioner and because of this locked out the airbag ecu.

I have since replaced the pre-tensioner with a used unit from another car and fitted a second hand airbag ecu from a car that was being broken (ff172).

As my car is a cup we need to disable some of the airbag circuits as they are not present on my clio (rear pre-belts etc, curtain airbags).

However when we tried executing the command to configure configuring these to without we where getting
a "Execution Conditions Unsatisfactory" error.

Any ideas on what this may be?

He hasn't seen this before

Not certain in this instance, but normally that pops up when something like the ignition isn't on, or the engine is running etc? Does the tech sheet on the top left give any notes of how it wants you to have the key set in the ignition, normally states position 1, 2 etc ?

I didn't see anything on screen regarding key position. A'll I can remember seeing was engine speed zero.

I had the ignition on at the time but the engine not started.

If you give me two minutes I'll try again and grab a screenshot.

No problem, having thought about it now, it will be the 'old' version of clip on that car, not the new style one, personally I prefered the old one. Let us know what you find (Y)

Will do. Out of curiosity the version of clip on this machine is v124.

Might be a very silly question, but is this too new for a 2003 Clio?

Without looking im not entirely sure what the latest version is, however if you've got the newest one loaded onto the machine, it should roll back when connected to a vehicle thats older. If your able to get a screen shot up ill be able to tell ya straight away hopefully lol

One thing that I did notice that I may have overlooked is this.

Surely this ecu (the replacement) shouldn't be stating that computer must be replaced and that an impact has been detected?

Its a borneo1 vehicle so no tech sheet available. I actually miss the simplicity of these vehicles.

You're showing an impact listed which is why you can't do anything... its scrap pending the crash data being removed.

So much for this being out of a "undamaged" vehicle then.

Should be a simple case of sending this off, getting to get the crash data cleared, then all should be good to go?

Yeah because scrap yard owners and ebayers never lie do they?

Have the unit re-virginised for around £25 or buy another from a car in a scrap yard that you can see has no bag or inertia reel deployments.
