Help with gettin wire to engine bay..

Ive got a mk2 phase 2 clio and ive got my sound system pretty much sorted apart from gettin the wire from my active sub to the engine bay but i cant see a way through! the only rubber bulk is too small! i was thinking of just drilling a hole through..

can anyone help me?

haha, use the grommet which is used by the bonnet release cable, under the passanger footwell.

depending on how thick the wire is...

ive checked that already i cant see how it can go through though it is tight as anything.. will i have to poke somethin through?

i think that would be a question for some else on here, iam a novice to this and i dont wanna tell you something and then you go and do something wrong!!

lol well i searched through and im gonna look at the grommet again and try to thread somethin through and get wire through!

My power cable wouldnt fit through either.

I got a 10mm drill piece and a power drill and just drilled a new hole next to the existing grommet. Then just went to Maplins and got a rubber grommet that was the right size for the cable/hole.

Then i cut my hands into pieces trying to get access to the newly drilled hole from behind the soundproofing under the bonnet.

Did it eventually though, and very pleased with the result

Odd, i've fitted amp wires on numerous mk2 clios and never had to drill a hole i've always got it through the bonnet cable grommit. If either of you guys are in the wilts area and still havnt sorted it ill do it for you.

How big a cable have you managed to get through ?
I've currenltly got 8awg going through it and its pretty tight, as i'm adding another amp i've gotta get 4awg through it though it looks like it'll be tight as a ducks or won't fit.

I used 4awg cable and there is no possible way of getting it through... the grommet simply isnt big enough!
