Help with painted inlet,??

  172
Going to spray my inlet this week, what do most people use to do this?

Im guessing Hammorite Smooth heat proof in a spray can.

If so do i remove the inlet from the car or do it in situe.

Will i need any new gaskets if i remove it, and whats the best way of cleaning it before hand.

Any help from those who've done this will be great

thanks

Fred powercoated his one... looks wicked, probably much more durable too.
I would remove it if your spraying it.

Yes you'll need gaskets.

I wouldn't do it tbh . When you come to sell it might put off some potential buyers . I'd either leave it or polish it .

i wouldn't use hammerite smooth spray (especially on that part) looks s**t after a while, satin colours are much better

normal primer and normal spray and normal clear are fine

ive done that much to my car now its going to be a marmite car when it comes to selling so that doesnt bother me, id love it polished but have other prioritys at the mo, plus i want one of Bens inlets as well, this was going to be a quick fix so to speak before FCS.

Freds orange one looks superb, id love it done however i wanted to smarten the engine bay up a but for now. I have a polished fuel guard already.

Halfords are basically shite unless you want bog standard paint . Your better off talking to a local paint / body part supplier, plus they are usually cheaper .

lol, loads of opinions.

So ive to use normal satin black with a metal primer.

No need for heat proof?
